The Hajr Cooperative Society for Agricultural Development in Al-Ahsa organized an event on September 15, 2025, marking the International Day of Rural Women and the Year of Handicrafts, held at Barni Farm. This event was part of the society’s ongoing efforts to support and empower rural women and to enhance the role of handicrafts as an important economic and social contributor within the local community. The event aimed to highlight the contributions of rural women to agricultural development and productive families, while also shedding light on traditional handicrafts in conjunction with the declaration of 2025 as the Year of Handicrafts. This initiative contributes to preserving cultural heritage and promoting its sustainability. The event included several specialized booths featuring participation from productive families and craftswomen, where a variety of traditional handicraft products were showcased. These included sewing works, Al-Sadu weaving, palm-leaf (Khoos) products, and other crafts that reflect the skill and creativity of rural women. The event also witnessed strong engagement from visitors and significant interest in purchasing products and supporting the participants. Through this event, the society reaffirmed its commitment to the economic and social empowerment of rural women, opening marketing channels for their products, and strengthening their role in achieving sustainable development, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. At the conclusion of the event, the Hajr Cooperative Society for Agricultural Development in Al-Ahsa expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to all participants and supporters, emphasizing its continued commitment to organizing initiatives and programs that serve the agricultural community and support productive families and handicrafts.
